Dog running again

Haven't had the use of Dog for a few weeks now and it's causing problems - not least because we keep getting paint on the seats of the other cars. Been lucky so far that dried latex paint comes off leather seats fairly easily, but time will run out.

So finally got a moment to do the first repair on Dog which was swapping out the fuel pump. Had more or less decided to do the fuel line first, but a friend pointed out that there are rubber components in the fuel pump that could have worn out since it was pulled from the field. Which kinda makes sense, a piece of rubber gradually failing over the last 1,000 miles.

New fuel pump and Dog started first time, but I wouldn't say there was a noticeable flow of fuel through the filter which is kinda worrying. First drive was good although it did cough (and my heart sank) at one point, but Dog recomposed itself and charged off down the road again.

Going to have tomorrow off work, but I might see how much a rubber hose is and replace the fuel line for it, just to rule that out as well.
