Broody chicken

The day started off
With a most difficult bird.
Young N does Grade 3
Though his scales I've not heard.
Big B sees his surgeon
Who declares all seems well.
N and T have a sports day
Both ran fast, neither fell.
H does a maths test
She dreads it but passes.
An evening out at church
I forgot to wear glasses.
As the day draws to a close
The chicken's still broody.
Housework's not done
The weather's still moody.
