Siloam Falls
The Siloam Falls and lagoon is another out-of-the-way little spot that you hike to in the upper Jamison Valley of the Blue Mountains. Here the Slik came in handy again, enabling a suitably long shutter speed for the plunge.
The lagoon itself is interesting. Typical of many such locations around here, it was formed due to the build up of silt brought down by the falls. Natural wave motion spreads the deposits out to form a kind of dam wall reinforced by trapped tree trunks and branches (which have also washed down), entrapping the lagoon waters before they eventually flow onward via a natural spillway.
The whole thing seems to have encouraged the build up of a gorgeous fernery which surrounds the pool.
