Elephant Orphanage, Pinnewala

That was the only place we visited today and we had abs no regrets.  The orphanage is for ... you guessed it ... orphaned elephants who lost their mothers to poachers.  The ellaphant is an orphan, too, so it would take something like this to catch her interest.

We not only got to ride an elephant but we also got to feed and bathe her -- such fun!  4 Extra shots, if you like.

After Pinnewala, we drove on till we reached the next pushpin on our itinerary -- Sigiriya.

It takes verrrrrry long to upload to Flickr.  I don't know if it's the WiFi connection, which is actually quite good where we are now, or Flickr itself, which changed its whatever-it's-called quite recently, possibly resulting in slower uploads.  Anyway, as soon as my Pinnewala album is ready, I'll post a link here.
