The second half of life..

By twigs

Just hangin'

The few rain drops I heard last night slowly gave way to slightly heavier and very much more persistent rain today.......all day!  It's been a van-bound day which wasn't so bad as it meant I could look at one or two jobs I'd brought along just in case.  It was lovely - even in good ol' West Coast rain - to sit on the shores of Lake Brunner for a few hours and see just 2 or 3 other people.  However, I decided later in the afternoon that I would head north towards Punakaiki and just enjoy the damp scenery.  I also decided I needed some more milk so I could enjoy a cuppa.  Stopped at what was the only store I found in the township, picked up some milk then promptly left it on the counter after I packed my purse away.  I didn't realise I hadn't picked it up until I went to make my evening cuppa :(  Coffee tomorrow morning will be a challenge!

These 2 pigeons were 2 of 3 I saw sitting on a power line just hanging around in the rain.  Passing trucks must have thought me a mad woman as I fluffed around in the persistent rain, pointing my camera skywards.  One of the 3 birds was separated slightly from the other two so I took my chance to see if I could get right under him, looking straight up.  I thought I'd done quite well only to find I was just a few inches off centre when I came to edit them.  Now I've put them together I think there's soemthing quite Escher-esque about them.

Tonight at Punakaiki with the sound of the angry ocean pounding just metres from my ears.  Blissful :)

G'night.
