A Green Path

A lovely warm afternoon again with an opportunity to get out for a short walk after the daily shopping trip for essentials.

This is a field and footpath I have photographed successfully in some previous years. But then from much closer ( in the field) but today it caught the eye and jogged the memory from a distance.

Snapped a Swallow in flight as it caught a fly, a nice Tortoiseshell butterfly and a Linnet on a wall. Its a long time since i remember hearing and seeing a flock of Linnet. There were quite a few Linnets in an obvious family group but difficult to put a number on as on further examination there were Goldfinch and Meadow pipits flying around as well.

Enjoyed seeing the build up to the OpenGolf this evening with many of the old champions playing a 4 hole better ball in groups of four. Many of the groups ended up joint winners at -3 under par and I think the winner was decided by the average age of the group - oldest wins so i think Arnold Palmers team won. He wasn't the oldest individual player that was Australian Peter Thomson at 85 who looked in fine form.
