Mother and Child

These Sandhill cranes were passing through our yard, and I'm glad we happened to be outside. I ran inside to get my camera and was lucky to get this shot just before they disappeared into the woods. It took probably 30 seconds for me to walk up to this spot, and they had totally vanished.
