Lavender

They may look messy, out of control and overgrown. In fact they probably are! They might need a trim. However, the smell they produce in the evening is intoxicating and the bees absolutely love them, all of which is much more important than a neatly trimmed garden. I remember reading something Siouxsie from Siouxsie and the Banshees said when talking about growing up in the suburbs of Kent - neatly trimmed borders equals neatly trimmed minds. I've always borne that thought in mind while having a garden.......
