Hand-crafted beauty

This is a creation of my friend Reg Medford, an artist in Barbados, who hand carves ornaments of all kinds from off-cuts of fallen mahogony tree branches and roots.  He created the technique where he uses templates to cut out the rough shapes and then a kind of hand-held sanding machine to buff and finish.  Lots of dust everywhere in the shop but very beautiful items everywhere.  It was a privilege seeing it in action.
