Blip Desperation

I probably shouldn't have bothered, as this was all I took today, but the habit is so strong now:-)

These short red gladioli started life a week or so ago as normal tall ones (see Extra), but started to bend half way up within a few days.  I was reluctant to throw them out just yet, so cut them down to enjoy for a bit longer.

Dull, cold and drizzly today and depressed when the weather report said summer was coming to an end.  What summer?  Ours hasn't started yet!
