Toes in the rain
It rained here today. What a relief!
LM and I sat on the wood bench under the awning on the back porch, looked for lightning (we found some), and soaked our toes. We marveled at the lack of mosquitoes, talked about our day, and listened to the water hitting the oak leaves over our heads.
Our backs absorbed the heat captured by the brick exterior of the house, which was bearable given the decrease of temperature in the rain. This made me wonder how much heat from the bricks gets inside our house. No wonder our AC can't keep up.
I am banning brick exterior walls in Mississippi.
