Mountains of the Upper Rakaia

We stopped to admire the grand view from the top of Porters Ski Field (1950 metres), on our first ski day of the season. 

Upper left is the Wilberforce River, and centre left is Lake Selfe.

The best skiing was on the upper slopes, where it was sunny, light winds, but still very cold.  A very pleasant day!
