Dubrovnik
Today we anchored just outside the walls of Dubrovnik Old Town and tendered in for a few hours around this lovely medieval walled city. We'd been before but didn't do the walk along the city walls. This time we bought the Dubrovnik card for about 15euros each (the entrance to walk the walks was about £10) and could go in the many museums and galleries without further charge.
The blip picture is taken from near the end of the walk along the city wall. It shows the view over the city towards the island just outside.
The extra picture is taken inside one of the museums (Maritime). I liked the reflection in the window of the harbour area.
The best display, in our opinion, was the black and white photographs of the Yugoslavia conflict that hit the Old Town on Dec 7 1991. They were very moving and even brought a little tear to Mrs BB eyes. That's what good photo's are all about. Moving the viewer.
Some of the other photo exhibitions were pure rubbish - even Mrs BB agreed - and how they were worth displaying I will never know.
It was so hot we sat and enjoyed some chilled beer/wine and a plate of pasta between us for about 90 minutes, in a high walled alley. So relaxing. It was in the high 30c and very hard work to keep cool. A jug of ice cubes helped!
