Melancholy thistle

It's a joy to discover this wildflower. Just look at the number of bumble bees getting drunk on the nectar if you do come across it. They didn't take kindly to me snapping them in their drunken state! These plants have naturalised in our wildlife garden at work. They seem to like the conditions very much. Incidentally, it takes its name from the drooping flowerheads once the seed is ripe.
