Crossing the River Severn

It was close to midnight when we arrived home, after driving down through Wales across the edge of Snowdonia, passing Cader Idris. We stopped for coffee and cake at 'King Arthur's Labyrinth' (recommended!). The journey home was part of our trip as we stopped for some hours at Dolaucothy to visit the Gold Mine where ancient Romans 'hushed' for gold. There's evidence that they also did some underground mining - or their poor slaves and prisoners did.

We came home via the M4 bridge over the Severn, which I've often seen in the distance from the English side of the river, but had never crossed before. This was the right direction to cross it. You pay a toll to drive over to Wales, but it's free to return to England!
