and... Relax

A tight end to the 2-week refurb shutdown with plumbers here until late today, and guests beginning to arrive, however, in the last twelve days we've..

Replaced the boiler,
Split the heating into three separate circuits,
Half-installed a fire alarm,
Moved one radiator, removed another,
Replaced the immersion heaters (as backups. We'd found both backups were broken anyway!),
Restored and painted 9 sash windows,
Renovated the big sash window bay, including double-glazing it and replacing the bodged sills,
Replaced the French doors with matching double-glazed ones,
Started the restoration of one wood panelled window,
Removed the need for some questionable use of extension leads,
Decorated one bedroom, and most of another,
Got two carpets fitted, including soundproofing,
Fixed the telephone wiring (still got one spare end though),
Removed the satellite dish and the disfiguring cables spread across the outside wall,
Fixed the library windows and sent the stained glass off for renovation,
Met S's girlfriend and got her painting walls within 24 hours :o)
Cut down some laurels,
and prepared for guests arriving this evening.

I think a glass or three is warranted.
