Medellin, Colombia

Our first night bus was 17 hours long - 3 hours of which were at a standstill due to a road block from an apparent attack from the FARC group blowing up some cars (apparently no big deal). Medellin showed us how to party that night as we celebrated our friend Gaurav's 25th birthday. The next couple of days we explored the city on the Metro system which included a cable car. These statues are from the artist Botero, there are about 20 on show in this park. We stayed in an area called Poblado which was a beautiful neighbourhood with streets lined with cafes, resturants, parks. We fell in love with it. It was here we said goodbye to our friends - Ash, Gaurav, Rash, Andy, Jess, Yas, Georgia, Kit and Murli. Thanks for a great 2 weeks, (bar Georgia who is Aussie) you are all going to make the best doctors England has seen!
