Wow!  What a fabulous day out!  I had an early morning breakfast with a friend of teacake and cuppa tea.  Then she dropped me at the station and I caught a train to Kintbury ~ when I got on the train I met up with blipper Gilesey!  

When we got to Kintbury, we went for a wander down the canal before coming back to the pub by the canal for a good lunch of sandwiches and chips :)

After lunch we caught our Horsedrawn Barge on the canal :)

We had a wonderful couple of hours cruising on the barge down to a lock, going through the lock and then coming back again, fabulous!

It was great to meet up with Gilesey at last!  We made good friends with some other people on the trip too!  

Thanks Gilesey for my first Pimms this year, which was lovely (even without the usual added strawberries etc) on the boat :)


Home after being extremely lucky in getting the last taxi in the station (at 5pm) thanks to racing in Newbury today I believe!

I took so many pictures (over 200) and have real difficulty in deciding which one to blip!  You can see all my others on Facebook and in flickr :)

When I got home the large catflap I'd ordered for my Dad to fit on Tuesday had arrived, so all is good.  I really hope that Billy uses it after all my organisation.  When I'm on holiday in a few weeks he will have two neighbours looking after him and it will be so much easier if he has the 'microchip' attention cat flap :) 

Now its late and (despite falling asleep on the sofa), I really must go to bed!

Tomorrow I really must do some housework which is very boring compared to today.....
