Walking tour of Bogota
This morning we spent in the Bortero museum looking at his voluptuous paintings and sculptures. It was very cultural and artsy-fartsy. We also went to the police museum to see a display on Pablo Escobar which included items seized from his home after he died. At 3pm we went on a walking tour with our guide Freddy. We drank hot chocolate with cheese in it and learnt about Colombian coffee. We walked the streets and saw lots of interesting things. Freddy took us to a local bar which hosted the local game which involved throwing metal discus into a clay wall trying to hit small plastic triangles filled with gun powder. Buy-in was one beer and we learnt to play while watching the local business men knock off work, tuck their ties into their suits, crack a beer and battle it out. It was lots of fun. The tour ended with us drinking chicha - a fermented corn drink (I'll stick to beer i think). For dinner we ate with friends we met on the walking tour. After dinner we went to a language exchange bar where we got given free beer to sit down and speak English to local Colombians who wanted to improve their skills. So much FUN!
