Gates to prospect

These are the gates that lead from the churchyard in Ross on Wye out to the Prospect from where here is a splendid view of the Wye Valley.

I met up with one of my college friends today.  We first met on our first day at Teacher Training College in 1976 and we have kept in touch since then - sometimes more effectively than others but our friendship endures.

Ann and I had a good gossip in a lovely tea shop and then we went clothes shopping.  Biblinros will be pleased to know that I only paid just over £50 for a very nice cocktail dress for Vienna.  Ross on Wye proved to be a little less expensive than the rather nice dress shop in Cockermouth.

A lovely afternoon.  We won't wait so long before we go again.

I thought these gates were rather imposing.  I could see them in an adaptation of a Dickens' novel...
