Orford Ness and Lighthouse

Today was really clear and hot for a pre arranged visit to Orford "Island" now owned by the National Trust. The trip was organised by Suffolk Wildlife Trust and took the form of a tour guided by NT rangers who were very knowledgeable. The area was used for testing weapons during both world wars and then during subsequent years for research into atomic weapons until it was decommissioned. The area is known as Suffolk's secret shore.
