It resumes
Back at East End Park for the first time since, ooh, way back in May, I think it was.
Feeling the usual new season optimism, maybe justified this time?
Don't worry, it's the Pars. I'll soon have that alien feeling beaten out of me by reality.
This was a pre-season friendly against the Hibs. So friendly that I've shown one of our new players, Jason Talbot (3), about to be sent off for a reckless, studs-up challenge. The ginger Hibs striker, Cummings, was pretty angry and looked like he was going to lamp wee Talbot, until he saw the approach of our new Number 5, Big Ben Richards-Everton. He's a Man Mountain, and no mistake.
We lost 2-1 in the end, which means that I'm obliged to say that the results of these pre-season games are completely unimportant, it's all about how the team gelled together etc, etc.
At the end of the day.
Actually the team looked fit and pretty good, certainly not a whole division behind Hibs. They didn't even look like they were a man down for long stretches.
