New Brighton lighthouse
Saturday 18th July 2015 (1056)
What a fabulous day! We parked the car at Seacombe on the Wirral and then cycled all around the coast to Leasowe lighthouse. We had a headwind and it was hard work at times. After a picnic lunch at the lighthouse we did a bit of geocaching as we meandered back on the inland road. We found four caches, three very small and one that was in a very unusual and gross container!
We stopped at New Brighton on the way back for an ice cream and a wander down to the beach and the lighthouse. We weren't ready to stop so we continued on by Seacombe, round the dock, and on to Birkenhead priory, which unfortunately was just closing. We returned to the car along the front. 20 miles in total. It was such a nice ride I didn't want to stop.
We arrived home at Pimms o'clock and sat in the garden for a while. After a shower we enjoyed a Bar-B-Q and sitting in the garden. Now it is time for a relaxing evening of cameras and computers.
Fantastic day and so nice to think I don't have to be up early tomorrow!
