MEMORY LANE

Felt much better today.   As I hadn't been out of the house for two days I needed to go out and do some shopping. Decided to go to Blaydon.

Changed buses in Swalwell where I took my blip shot.  This back lane brought back memories as Douglas and I lived in one of the houses on the right hand side - near the bottom - when we were first married.  We lived there in 1981 and 1982.

Our house was originally occupied by four families - workers at the local pit.  Some time later it was converted into 2 flats - an upstairs and a downstairs.  When we moved in it was one house.  Well mostly.  There were still 2 front doors.  There was a toilet indoors and a toilet in the back yard.  It was an upside down house with the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living rooms. kitchen and bathroom upstairs.  It was quite roomy as one house but it was hard to believe 4 families had once lived in the same space.

Did some much needed shopping in Blaydon.  Stocked up on fruit and some ingredients to make something for Taster Night at slimming club on Monday.  We just got told about it today via Facebook and I had nothing in to make something.

The weather today was dull and there was a strong chilly wind. It looked as though it might rain but in the end it stayed dry.
