Redhall Walled Garden
A first for us, we attended an open day at Redhall Walled garden, constructed in 1758, on the site of Jinkabout mill, to supply Redhall House. Run by SAMH it is now an organic garden for people recovering from mental health difficulties.
The photo is of one of the Alliums at bud-burst, extras 1 and 2 of bees and a climbing rose.
A display of chickens rescued from caged farming made a big impression - see extra 3 - the whites so hen-pecked they have large, sore bald patches; the red was rescued some time ago and is now in great condition and still lays well.
The garden is open during the week, so we'll return on a quieter day.
