CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
This is all I have today.
Funny thing – I swear this Common Whitetail female was playing with me today. She’d land about 5 ft – 6 ft away, then stay still as I’d inch closer with the camera. I’d get maybe almost 2 ft from her, and she’d fly enough only to move about 6 ft away again. She did this at least five times. When she came to the end of the walk, she flew around the corner of the house, but I’d given up by then so I didn’t go after her. In just a minute or two, there she was back again, landing on the sidewalk just the same distance from me, only to keep moving off a bit as I’d get closer going back in the other direction. Such a tease! Trouble was, she’d only land on the cement sidewalk so there wasn’t anything colorful or interesting for a decent blip.
(The female has the dark brown abdomen with triangles along sides. The male has a short, stout white abdomen.)
