A Small Piece Of Culture

This is a painting of "the mouth of the Moore River" painted by an indigenous person of the land as he sees it and as they believe, 
The Waugal, pronounced, woggle (snake) is by far the most important spirit figure to the Noongar people. 
One story common to all groups tells of how the Waugal appeared before the coming of man and moved across, under and above the land to create deep furrows and caves and at the same time it created a great storm that flooded the area. The floodwaters ran through the furrows and caves to create the Beeliar (rivers). As the waters receded the Beeliar and wetlands remained. The Waugal came to rest in a deep pool or springs along the Moore near Mogumber. 
my extra blip is my blip of the River that flows into the sea, as the Aboriginal painting is drawn.. 
A very wet damp miserable day outdoors today, i just felt like writing a small piece about these very brave people ...
