Geevor Tin Mine - (Backblip)

We spent most of the day here experiencing a little of what it must have been like being a tin miner at Geevor (Geevor was operational between 1911 and 1990 during which time it produced about 50,000 tons of black tin).  There was so much to see and do at Geevor and the spirit and camaraderie of the place is beautifully preserved.  When it was time to go underground I had my usual claustrophobic wobble but resolved to get a grip and managed the 10 minute walk through the narrow and very low passages;  as you see 3 out of the 4 of us are tall so it was a bit of a challenge but we  managed it and I felt quite proud that I'd overcome my phobia, just for 10 minutes - would never have made a miner though!!  How brave were those men, women and children too.

A cuppa at the Ben Tunnicliffe Restaurant at Sennen and dinner at The Taj Mahal Nepalese & Indian Restaurant, Penzance.  Another great day - another late night!!
