Fenêtre D'Arpette

A simply magnificent day in the mountains today as I made my way from the Col du Forclaz over to Champex Lac.
It really did have everything, hot sunshine but a cool glacial breeze, 360 degree views (I can't remember taking so many photos on a walk before), flowers (Martagons, Rampions, St Brunos), wildlife (Chamois, Snakes, butterflies).
Walking along unbelievably balanced boulders that once must have been the lateral morain for the Trient Glacier, whilst still able to see the spectacular shapes the headwall has formed and all the time to the roaring sound of the torrents.
On a serious note the path has washed away  in many places with this unseasonal weather, but it is still passable. Don't know if I'll be taking clients that way though, as the descent into Champex is currently very loose. Which is a shame as that's where today's blip was taken from.
