Horses of the Namib
All you horse lovers would like to see these wild horses of the Namibian Desert. There are many theories about their origin. There used to be a stud farm at Kalub owned by a German called Kreplin before the war. He was interned and lost his wealth, so the horses were let loose. There were also horses from a troop of soldiers stationed nearby, and these due to circumstances were also abandoned. There was a waterhole nearby for steam trains and this plus they were in a forbidden diamond area, so no trepassers, they survived.
I have also added a mono photo taken at the abandoned diamond town near Luderitz called Kolmanskop. The mono effect makes it look even more forlorn.
