Rose Hospital

Can you see our newest rose, peeking from behind the lavender? This rose, Zephirine Drouhin, is lucky to be alive. She is a climber and we planted her on a fence where we hoped to have lots of blooms. Unfortunately nearby there was a sapling stump that we treated with something toxic and the poison must have spread underground to the roots of the rose. We quickly realised our mistake, dug her up and put her in a pot by the backdoor to recover. She has rewarded us with two blooms and lots of fresh new leaves. Eventually we will plant her somewhere safe where she can cover a wall or fence in hundred of blooms.
