Strange leaf

We stayed a night at a cottage by the sea shore with friends. Today we visited an island nearby with a rowboat. Wind made rowing quite challenging. We saw this butterfly that looked almost like a tree's leaf. Haven't seen that species before.
Edit: The species is probably Large emerald, Isomittari in Finnish (Geometra papilionaria).
