His army came unstuck when the river Severn flooded, and seeing Richard`s on the other side, Buckinghams troops `melted` away. He fled to the New Forest with a price on his head. Captured there and taken to Salisbury where the King was having a week end. Richard ordered his trial for treason and execution next day.
