RED

I managed to cycle over to Red Road flats today on my lunch hour. One of these huge iconic tower blocks were blown up over the weekend (on purpose - it was a controlled explosion). You can see plenty of photographs of this explosion all over Blipfoto and also all over the internet.

I took some photographs and caught some film of the aftermath, there was rubble, debris and twisted metal all around the area that the large beast-like JCBs were rolling around breaking and devouring everything in their path.

Red Road holds something for me since doing a music project and live performance involving the field recordings of the area. I may try to get to the next explosion if I manage to find out when it is.
