Luna Moth

Richard and Mizuki were down cleaning the A cabin for incoming guests and they found 2 of these amazing luna moths hanging onto the window screen.   they brought them home in an ice cream container (extra photo) and then we let them out so we could photograph them.  one of them was very anxious to be free so we took it outside and it flew away almost immediately.  the other seems to still be in it's dormant stage...hopefully they will survive until nightfall.  Mizuki looked them up
Google and found out that they sleep during the day and feed and fly in the night!  they only live for a week...so i was pretty anxious to let them free as soon as possible.  

Another day off....so here are 2 small paintings i began.  these are just the water colour under paintings....i'm about to start applying pastels....always such a scary moment!!!
