The kitchen of course

Fontrevaud Abbey in the Loire Valley.  A beautiful place which in its history has been both abbey and prison.  Both incarnations are commemorated today.  We went to see the tombs of Eleanor of Aquitaine, Henry and Richard but we enjoyed the rest of it too.  This, believe it or not, is the kitchen which has smoke bays all around a central space.  I think it looks more like a pigeon loft.
