Honey day

I am sure more happened than just harvesting honey but it was the main task. With all the swarming that went on in May/June, the harvest is not good but certainly enough for our purposes - personal consumption for ourselves, family and friends. Leave the commercial market for MrB. Angie must have sold over 100 jars for him last year in Munich.

Don't yet know how much I have as I want it to settle for a day or two before filling in jars. Normally the bee season is now coming to a close but I hope that there may just be a chance to harvest some Honeydew Honey. The newest honey is probably mainly summer flowers but with a good portion of honeydew. It's much darker than the spring harvest.

This shot was taken with the mobile in the evening as I returned the spun out frames to the hives. Angie upstairs opening up the windows again after the day's heat and giving Lui a cuddle. The cats & dogs prefer being indoors during the day - with the shutters and windows closed, we can keep the house more than 10°C cooler than outdoors.
