Cheaper by the dozen
Missymoo's June Challenge - today's challenge: Take Twelve.
So, I want to be creative with twelve. A dozen eggs? (BORing.) A dozen roses? (snore.) A dozen cupcakes? (but there would only be nine or ten by the time I photographed them). Laurie and Katie helped me gather some odds and ends to stuff into an egg carton (dumb idea - it looked better in my mind). A dozen paints? (getting closer).
I scooted over to the local variety store for an errand and, of course, took my camera along. Lots of things come in twelves. I had fun looking and finally settled on crayons - or rather colored pencils - and gave them a colored pencil treatment. OK, that's a little creative.
I remember having two or three choices of crayons when I was a kid - there was the little package of 8; a package of 24 and the jumbo box of 64 - with a built in sharpener! When you had that one, you had arrived.
Now you can buy all kinds of crayons and drawing pens and pencils. Let me tell you, I was eyeing that 3 tiered telescoping crayon tower! with a built in sharpener! (still an attraction!) and 150 different colors! Colors have changed too - now there are names like Tickle Me Pink, Tropical Rainforest, Manatee (??) and Purple Heart. I guess if you have 150 colors you have to come up with some original names. I want that job.
