Urban fox
My first morning in London I was out in the garden, lagged, at 4:30 a.m. Cup of coffee in hand, enjoying the birdsong, I was amazed at the appearance of a fox. He was as surprised to see me as I was to see him. We carefully backed our opposite ways out of the garden. Furious I hadn't had my camera with me but made sure I did every morning after and was finally rewarded with this shot. This fox visits the garden every day, usually in the morning. Very wary of humans, which is good, but has been a regular for several years now. He seems well but has a partially bald tail. He has an understanding with the neighbor's cat, they both like to sunbathe on the shed roof at the end of my host's garden, so they came to an agreement to share the space companionably on sunny days.
