EMERGENCY LIONS
If you're getting on and you're living alone
At four-score years and seven, or nigh on;
And you've seen it all, and you're seldom afraid
But you're frail of frame, with a will of iron;
If your friends and family live far and wide
And you need someone close you can rely on;
If once in a while you wistfully wish
That there was a strong furry shoulder to cry on;
If everyone tells you to pause at the door
And suspect all the tricks that villains may try on;
Then oh what a comfort to reach for the phone
And summon help from an emergency lion.
I keep meaning to ask Mum what this sticker on her back door is all about. It's been there for years.
I've back-blipped the last few days
here,
here,
and here.
