Sweet Nostalgia

About six weeks ago I happened to spend a few hours in Berwick - and wandered past the boarded-up remains of the shop where they used to make and sell Berwick Cockles.  Today I found a story on the BBC website mentioning that the factory that makes both Berwick Cockles and Edinburgh Rock (another implausibly sweet confection) has been saved for the nation. Hooray.

And by a very small leap of imagination my mind jumped to Hawick Balls - there's been an old tin around my desk for a long time.  I think I need to find out if one can still get these...
