Shed Base

Not often you get a view of our 'secret garden' behind the lawned and patio'd area which we use.
After clearing out the 8 feet high bushes we've got the roots up with a felling axe, tilled and levelled the ground, dug out the rubbish from between the stepping stones, put down the anti-weed membrane and put the base down 8 x 4 feet (2.4m x 1.21m - the double doors open onto the stepping stones)..
The 'rubbish between the stepping stones' is mostly from the pyracantha that was all over the arch that used to be there. It gave of tons of brown debris when the flowers died to make way for the lovely berries. It has built up for the past 20 years and turned to composted soil. Not what you want on a path as everything seeds into it.
Anyway, gravel comes tomorrow, 'pea' gravel to fill up the base, although we've pegged it down with a dozen or more metal tent pegs, and 3/4 washed Cotswold stone gravel to fill in between the stepping stones again, 7cwt in all (355.6kg)
