penrith

day one has brought us to penrith in the north lakes. i had pictured a quaint little town but felt like i'd stepped back to the 80s, and not in a good way.

anyway, we had a little mooch around, had a giggle, saw the remains of a castle and then found refuge in our lovely hotel. a flipping great ale and a few burgers between us, and we were friends with penrith again.
