Rosemary Alley
........a tiny walkway with a great deal of history. This is an alley in the old part of Guildford, which dates back to the 1700s. It is called Rosemary Alley because lots of Rosemary was scattered down the alley by the inhabitants. At the top of the shot there is a building, this was the old Guildford Dispensary and above that were the grand houses (one where Lewis Carroll lived). From the houses sewage was swept down the alley into the River Wey, hence the need for Rosemary for the inhabitants !!!!!
My contribution to Tiny Tuesday......a very tiny alley.
