Splash!

We had planned to go to Mont St Michel today but a) it was grey and cold and pouring with rain this morning and b) hundreds of "angry French farmers" have blockaded the access roads demanding higher meat and milk prices.
I only found out about the protest because Miss L is running low on gluten free food so I Googled Mont St Michel supermarket to find one nearby. I got a news story showing tractors (presumably containing angry farmers) blocking the road and outlining the protesters' demands to supermarkets.
What are the odds I Googled Mont St Michel and Supermarket on the day there's a story about both?!!
So we stayed at the gite and had another lazy day. The Little Misses went in the pool over and over again. Mr K and I even joined them after lunch - despite the sub zero temperature of the water!
There was much squealing as Mr K threw them both up in the air and and into the water over and over again.
For lunch we went to a local restaurant run by English people. It was a bit disappointing - the website said they were happy to offer meals for Coeliacs. Not so much - lunch menu only, no substitutes, would she like a plate of chips? And to watch her sister demolish a basket of French bread and a pizza? Not really.
Mr K and I both had steak which she shared, and they had ice cream for pudding so all wasn't lost.
The weather stayed rubbish right up until early evening which was also disappointing. Drizzle all day long.
The holiday spirit has abandoned the Family K today. Miss E's behaviour has been getting worse over the last few days. She's gone on her usual hideous trip to the Dark Side that we get when she can't/won't cope with change, is overwhelmed/massively over tired/eating a crappy diet and generally feeling at odds with the world.
And Miss L even joined in a bit with the stroppiness and general contrariness.
Going in the pool all together helped a bit. They thought it was hilarious seeing Mummy and Daddy being so pathetic about getting in. (It was like the Arctic Ocean!!)
Dinner was scummy Toulouse sausages and then an early night for the Little Misses.
At the time of writing - 9.30pm - I can hear Miss E still banging around and running back and forth. Sigh.
