Zerohour In The Little Room
I couldn't resist posting the exhilaration of fellow blipper, zerohour, as she gazed at the walls of the little room at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art. No matter if the image is slightly fuzzy, I knew as I caught this moment that this was the photo I would publish from our blipmeet today. It tells the story for me of my father's very private art made visible to his fellow humans. I saw it first...this look of light meeting light...on the face of my baby daughter, Moira, in 1965, the year of my father's passing and of Moira's birth. I have seen it on many faces since. But today the mystery moved from the walls and met the soul of the lovely receptive K, known as zerohour on blip.
She brought family members with her to meet me at the museum: Her genteel and gracious parents from Poland, and her son, LM, and I revived the pleasure of taking appreciative new friends on a tour of the museum. I allowed the old familiar knowledge of my father and his art to bloom anew, and I saw my pleasure reflected on the faces of these dear people who were my companions for a few special hours. It was a beautiful time, and, recluse that I have become, I surprised myself by accompanying them to lunch and partaking of very good pizza. K remarked as I was eating my second slice of pizza, that I looked happy. I was happy.
I am including a picture of "LM", K's son, as well. I love his little boy mischievous response to the walls. He was enjoying finding "hidden creatures". Can you find the spider in its web on the wall behind him?
