Erosion

My last day surveying grasslands at Grafham Water, and once again it was hot and windy, but felt very humid in any sheltered spot - generally tiring weather.

The reservoir is pretty large, with a circumference of about 10miles, and together with Rutland Water and Pitsford Reservoir, supplies drinking water to a large area of the East Midlands.

On a really windy day there are significant waves which are gradually eroding the more exposed clay banks, hence the mini coastal defences along the shore.
