Exhibit A
I've been a welcomer at Christchurch Priory for a while now and I'm getting a bit bored with that, so I'm gradually moving across to the Priory museum. That will keep me fit as it's just under the roof and up a narrow circular staircase. I have to get to know the exhibits, so I'm taking them one by one , and blipping them as I go to aid my memory.
This rather grim guy is an Augustinian Black Canon .(Actually he's a 21st century mannequin and a bit big for a medieval priest). He and his brethren inhabited the Priory in the good old days before Henry VIII got rid of the monasteries. They were called Black Canons because of their black cloaks.
