Inferno

When you arrive at your holiday destination and the earth is scorched, police are managing traffic and there are air drops of water on the hills, it's just too hot. There has been a heat wave in Croatia and the result is dramatic forest fires. People and homes seem to have mostly survived but the damage to the landscape is dire.

Today the smoke has subsided but last night, if we had not had air conditioning in our apartment we'd have just left. Seemed reasonable to stay and support the local economy at least.
