Family

Living an ocean away from my blood family has given me a new perspective on family. This picture is a perfect example. "Grandpa" lives in the apartment next to this little guy's family. Grandpa is happy to have a grandson and often can be found taking him on walks to the market or in the university. And grandson loves to spend time with grandpa.

A lot of Thais in Bangkok are living away from their families also. Usually here for work or school, they are often lacking the close relationships family provides.

Of course, nothing can replace the people you grew up knowing as family, but this way I feel extra blessed, I get two families!
